2012 NEWS!
2012 will bring new records by The Moog and the Boss Martians. The Moog's third album "Seasons In The Underground" will be released April 10th! Stay tuned for more details...
THE MOOG Razzmatazz Orfeum LP/CD
THE MOOG is now available.
Razzmatazz Orfeum - - released on both CD and white vinyl LP - delivers tracks recorded in Seattle with producer Geoff Ott (Queens Of The Stoneage, Pearl Jam) and offers the listener something quite uncommon in this day and age: the immersion of a total album experience. From the roaring lead-off track "This Is Horror," with its fade-in intro delivered true to the band's name with swirling vintage Moog synthesizers, to the wry, catchy dance goth rocker and first video/single "You Raised A Vampire" (already getting play at MTV), the ultra-pop and Spector-esque "Make Me Happy;" and the synth centerpiece "Self and Soul," featuring singer Tonyo Szabo's surprising falsetto, Razzmatazz Orfeum is the ultimate musical statement so far from Hungary's top musical export. Check it all out HERE!
THE MOOG'S NEW 7" SINGLE WITH BAUHAUS' DAVID J!
"You Raised A Vampire"by Budapest alternative rock band THE MOOG is being released on 7" clear gold vinyl. "You Raised A Vampire" could very well be the ultimate garage-goth dance rocker for the 21st Century, with its dramatic interplay of theatrical vocals (by baritone-voiced singer Tonyo Szabo), Moog synthesizer hooks, double-picked electric guitars and disco-infused hi-hat action. The song, an ode to romantic love with vampiric aspirations, re-introduces The Moog to America as the premier rock band from Eastern Europe. Check it out here!
If the A-side doesn't leave a deep bite mark in the neck of the current rock scene, how about a Bauhaus classic for the B-side? The Moog sinks their teeth into "The Passion Of Lovers", the UK band's 1981 gem - and make it their own. Their
arrangement so impressed Bauhaus/Love & Rockets bassist/vocalist David J that he joined in and added backing vocals and
bass harmonica.
The single's stunning artwork was created for the project by artist/author Gris Grimly (known for his creepy paintings as
well as illustrations for his Edgar Allan Poe and Pinocchio books, among others http://www.madcreator.com).
Grimly's artwork for The Moog single is comprised of two separate paintings the artist created inspired by the band's music.
